Therapies
Poco a Poco…
little by little, we get you there
Electro-Physical Agents
These therapies use physical energy (sound, light, electricity) to accelerate the body’s natural healing process.
Infra Red Radiation (IRR): A soothing, thermal therapy that uses light waves to penetrate deep into tissues. It enhances blood circulation and provides rapid pain relief for chronic muscle stiffness.
Therapeutic Ultrasound: High-frequency sound waves create a “micro-massage” effect within cells. This reduces inflammation, breaks down scar tissue, and speeds up the healing of ligaments and tendons.
TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation): A non-invasive method for pain management. Small electrical pulses “interfere” with pain signals being sent to the brain, providing immediate relief for both acute and chronic conditions.
EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation): Focused on muscle recovery and strengthening. By sending electrical impulses to specific muscles, we can prevent atrophy in injured patients or “re-train” muscles that have weakened after surgery.
Manual & Massage Therapies
Hands-on techniques designed to restore mobility and reduce tension.
Manual Therapy: Skilled hand movements (mobilizations and manipulations) intended to improve tissue extensibility, increase range of motion, and reduce joint pain.
Therapeutic Massage: A clinical approach to soft tissue work. It targets specific injuries or chronic pain areas to release “knots,” improve circulation, and reduce muscle guarding.
Relaxation Massage: Designed to lower cortisol levels and calm the nervous system. This is ideal for patients dealing with stress-related tension and general fatigue.
Specialized Neurological & Functional Rehab
Advanced techniques for patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, or specific motor impairments.
Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT): A “tough-love” approach for stroke recovery. By restraining the stronger limb, we force the brain to rewire itself and regain function in the affected “weaker” limb.
Bobath Concept: A specialized neurological approach aimed at improving movement and postural control. It focuses on sensory-motor recovery to help patients regain independence in daily life.
Hand Therapy: Specialized rehabilitation for the upper extremity. We treat everything from carpal tunnel and tendon repairs to complex fractures, ensuring you regain the fine motor skills needed for daily tasks.
Active Recovery & Support
The foundation of long-term healing and injury prevention.
Exercise Therapy: Personalized movement programs designed to correct imbalances, build strength, and ensure you don’t just get better, but stay better.
Kinesio Taping: The use of specialized elastic tape to provide support to joints and muscles without restricting motion. It helps reduce swelling and provides “biofeedback” to help you move correctly.
Heat & Cold Packs:
Cold: Used for acute injuries to reduce swelling and “numb” sharp pain.
Heat: Used for chronic aches to relax tight muscles and improve flexibility before exercise.
